According to a story at Phone Scoop, Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) will release Bluetooth 3.0, a new specification version of the Bluetooth standard later this month. This new release will include a specification for High Speed Bluetooth, allowing for BT-enabled devices to transfer data at greatly increased speeds and giving Bluetooth-enabled handsets many compelling applications beyond voice transmission to a headset.
The New Bluetooth Core Specification also includes an enhanced power control (EPC) feature. The purpose of this feature is to make Bluetooth connections tolerant of rapid power fades.
